Chinese chair.circa 1904.
This chair was designed for the Chinese Room in the Ingram Street
Tea Rooms, Glasgow.
The chairs were originally finished with black lacquer
and along with black Domino/games tables, they presented a striking
contrast to the vivid blue latticed panels that featured in the
Chinese Room.
We supplied chairs and tables for the reconstruction of the Chinese
Room and Ingram chairs for the White Luncheon Room at the Willow
Tea Rooms, Buchanan Street, Glasgow in 1997.
