Argyle
Chair .circa 1897
This
chair was designed for the Luncheon Room of the Argyle Street Tea Rooms, Glasgow.
It
is instantly recognisable with the large oval head rail and the stylised 'flying
bird' cut through this oval.
A
small number of the original chairs exist where the back slats are attached
to the back of the head rail, rather mortised into it. This detail is retained
on our Argyle Chairs since we created our templates from one of these rarer
chairs.
